Opium Moon to Release ‘Day + Night’ EP

World fusion ensemble Opium Moon is set to release the ‘Day + Night’ EP, the first EP from their forthcoming double album ‘Day + Night.’

Violinist and vocalist Lili Haydn says, “In this chaotic and divided time, we wanted to create a world in which you can explore your sensuality and also another world where you feel like jumping up and dancing. Music that creates a ‘world’ can bring us together in shared feeling and experience — building bridges, not walls.

In some of the pieces we’re using the same themes in both day and night forms, which is a metaphor for life…our perspectives are what create our worlds. Opium Moon is creating music for your life.”

The band’s mesmerizing music creates a “world” all its own, rhythmically driven by MB Gordy‘s potent percussion and Itai Disraeli‘s bass, and resplendent with Hamid Saeidi‘s Persian santoor and the fluidity of Lili Haydn‘s violin lending dazzling contrast. Opium Moon’s original compositions combine hypnotic ancient grooves with sacred and classical elements from both East and West.

Itai Disraeli concludes, “Out of harmony, can come unity. This is what is encoded in our music — and the spirit in which we play it. This music is intended to heal and bring us together as we enter a new era.”

The group’s debut album was Opium Moon, released in 2018.
