World music ensemble Rafiki Jazz has released ‘Tum Na Aaye‘ (Before you came), the the first single ahead of their new album, Nduggu (Dust).
Sufi soul singer Sarah Yaseen performs a rendition of a profound poem from legendary Pakistani Urdu poet and author Faiz Ahmed Faiz, about how we view and shape our worlds through our personal relationships. ‘Tum Na Aaye’ combines Afro-Cuban rhythms and Arab-Andalusian melodies.
Tum Na Aaye features Sarah Yaseen on vocals; Catherine Ngozi Carr on guitar; Mina Mikhail Salama on duduk; Kadialy Kouyate on kora; Tony Koni on bass; John Ball on tabla; and Guery Tibirica on gumbe.
