“Long Time Passing: Kronos Quartet & Friends Celebrate Pete Seeger” is the number one recording at the Transglobal World Music Chart (TWMC) in December 2020.
“Long Time Passing: Kronos Quartet and Friends Celebrate Pete Seeger” is a tribute to the music, political philosophy, and social effect of American folk singer-songwriter Pete Seeger. Joining the Kronos Quartet are Sam Amidon, Maria Arnal, Brian Carpenter, Lee Knight, Meklit, and Aoife O’Donovan.
The guests give voice to the straightforward songs of struggle that Seeger both wrote and collected in his seventy-plus years as a musician, while Jacob Garchik and Kronos’ arrangements emotively translate his banjo-playing for Kronos’ two violins, viola, and cello.
