Nordic Band Wardruna Releases Kvitravn Music Video

Innovative Scandinavian band Wardruna has unveiled the music video for the title track of its upcoming fifth full length album, Kvitravn (White Raven).  The album is set for release on January 22, 2021 via through Norse Music in the U.S. and Sony Music / Columbia Records in the rest of the world. The album continues where the Runaljod trilogy left off in 2016 with Runaljod – Ragnarok which charted at #1 Billboard’s World Music charts in the U.S. and Canada.

Wardruna performs inventive renditions of ancient Nordic traditions using a wide selection of both traditional and historical instruments.

In addition to the new album, the group’s leader, Norwegian musician and actor Einar Kvitrafn Selvik, was recently enlisted to work on the score for the next installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed. His track “Hrafnsmál – The Words of the Raven” is included on the game’s soundtrack EP Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Out Of The North which is out now via Lakeshore Records.

The music video for title track “Kvitravn” was filmed at several locations across Norway and Russia and even features a rare sighting of the white raven—which is not only the namesake of the album but is also a revered as a sacred creature in Nordic traditions.
