Laura Esparza and Carlos Esteban win the 13th Sons de la Mediterrània Contest

Laura Esparza and Carlos Esteban from Valencia (Spain) are the winners of the 13th edition of the Concurs Sons de la Mediterrània. The contest final was held at the Center Artesà Tradicionàrius in Barcelona, ​​within the framework of the Fira Mediterrània conference and showcase in Manresa. The Fira opened on October 13, in a hybrid and decentralized format.

Vocalist Laura Esparza and percussionist and guitarist Carlos Esteban, augmented on stage with Ivan Espí on electric guitar, seduced the contest jury with their original songs that combined pop, folk and ethnic music, and electronics.


The other two finalists also delivered top-level performances. The young duo Tecum Terra featured vocals, percussion, dance and theater, based on the musical traditions of the Iberian Peninsula, while Cat Klezmer Trio, displayed a lively show that brought together sardana and klezmer music.
