WOMEX 2020 Confirms Digital Edition

WOMEX, the largest international conference and showcase for world music, has confirmed the 2020 virtual edition. The event will be held October 21 – 25, 2020.

The WOMEX team along with its local Hungarian partner Hangveto (the conference was set to take place in Budapest) have develop a program that allows all WOMEX participants to gather digitally. Tickets are available through the registration system.

WOMEX 2020 costs €79 (euros). The digital registration includes access to:

• 365-day access to virtualWOMEX with regular opportunities to network and engage with the community and make use of content that is uploaded year-round

• Direct communication with all registered WOMEX delegates and companies

Interactive online panel discussions, mentoring sessions, networking meetings and presentations. Speakers from around the world address the global music scene’s most pressing topics.

Jury-selected Showcase Artists through Virtual Showcases, beaming in music from around the world as well as some personal insight into the acts through Q&A’s with the bands.

Stream the entire official selection of 21 international films and explore the audiovisual world of the global music industry. Browse through the film library and market screenings and get to know the filmmakers directly through interactive sessions.

WOMEX Award Ceremony

The WOMEX Awards recognize and honor the extraordinary artists and professionals from the world music community and their exceptional achievements in world music on the international level.

Budapest Ritmo

Hangvető, from the WOMEX 2020 host city of Budapest is putting together a special program consisting of conference sessions, presentations, network meetings and showcases from the region. Taking place on-site, this program will be streamed through virtualWOMEX and offers digital delegates the opportunity to get to know the local scene and dive into the vast musical culture of Hungary.

 Additional Features

Video Stand Add-On – For an additional price of €49, professionals can take part in WOMEX 2020 as a virtual exhibitor by purchasing a video stand (booth). The built-in video stand allows the exhibitor to speak to digital delegates with ease and offers visitors the opportunity to interact directly with the exhibitor.
