The Andrea Parodi Awards has announced the ten finalists that will participate in the 2020 contest. This is the only European contest for world music. The finals will be held from October 8-10, 2020 in Cagliari. Artists will perform in front of a technical jury made up of experts, authors, musicians, poets, writers and songwriters and a critical jury that includes journalists.

Elena D’Ascenzo (Abruzzo, Italy) with “Nennella”, in Fontanaro.
Kalascima (Salento, Italy) with “Ballamundi”, in Salentino and English.
Abraham Laye Senè & Gaalgui World Music Band (Senegal / Sicily, Italy) with “Diamono”, in Senegalese and Spanish.
Maria Mazzotta (Salento, Italy) with “Nu me lassare”, in Salentino.
Danilo Ruggero (Sicily, Italy) with “Li malivuci”, in Sicilian pantesco.
Stefania Secci Rosa and Bruno Chaveiro (Sardinia, Italy) with “Macca”, in Sardinian.

The event, which is open to artists from any nation, was born to pay homage to the great artist Andrea Parodi, who led a reawakening of Italian roots music.
