The Silkroad Ensemble has joined with Partners in Health to honor the nurses and all healthcare workers who are on the frontlines fighting COVID19. The special musical tribute features the song Ichichila, used in Mali to accompany the extremely difficult and dangerous process of dyeing fabric with indigo to create highly coveted blue clothing.
Silkroad stated: “In the days of COVID-19, blue clothing is now the recognizable uniform of our most important heroes; the nurses and healthcare workers who risk their lives every day to save ours.
We hope this song brings joy and hope as the whole world celebrates nurses. From all of us at Silkroad, thank you for all you do — today and every day!”
