Ellas Crean Celebrates the Creativity of Women in 2016

More than a hundred female artists are scheduled to participate in 80 cultural activities scheduled by Ellas Crean, the festival organized by the Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities (Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality) of Spain and the Centro Cultural Conde Duque in Madrid.

The annual event focuses on the creativity of women and showcases the multidisciplinary talents of Spanish and international artists, featuring cinema, music, literature, art, theater and dance.

Ellas Crean festival is the most important event of its kind held in Spain around the commemoration of International Day of Women’s Day (March 8).

The music of Iranian singer Mahsa Vadat and Israeli vocalist Sivan Talmor will appear in Spain for the first time in Spain. Meanwhile, Saharawi singer Aziza Brahim will present her new album, “Abbar Hamada” at Ellas Crean.

The theater program will have 5 premieres, while the discipline of dance will stage two new choreographies, one world premiere and one in Spain.

In the Literature field, Ellas Crean will present new novels by Monika Zgustova and Gordana Kuiç.

In film, there will be a documentary premiere and a screening of two recent Iranian films.

Ellas Crean has the support of 48 national, regional and local entities.
