Jerry Douglas to Perform at Merlefest

 

Dobro master Jerry Douglas is scheduled to perform at MerleFest 2016, one of the largest bluegrass and American roots festivals in the United States. Merlefest will take place April 28 – May 1, 2016 on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Douglas is one of only five musicians who have played at every MerleFest.

Jerry Douglas was named the 2015 International Bluegrass Music association (IBMA) Dobro Player of the Year and leads the tribute band Earls of Leicester that won four 2015 IBMA awards: Entertainer of the Year, Instrumental Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year.

Douglas produced the Steep Canyon Rangers’ new much-admired album, Radio. His most recent recordings include The Earls of Leicester and Three Bells.
