Celebrated California-based Mexican traditional music band Los Cenzontles (The Mockingbirds) has released “Pelo de Oro”, the video of its second single from its new album ‘Alma Campirana‘. This following the release of the group’s first single “La Rielera.

“Pelo de Oro” is a classic corrido which is part of Mexico’s rich songbook. The song has a special meaning for members of Los Cenzontles, especially for Fabiola Trujillo who learned this song from her grandfathers who used to sing it to her when we she growing up. The song is an admonitory corrido about an ambitious woman who is betrayed by her drug lord lover.

The video was directed by group member Emiliano Rodriguez, who chose a local park in San Pablo (California) in order to capture the true ranchero spirit of this legendary song complimented by the beautiful vocals of Fabiola Trujillo and Lucina Rodriguez and Eugene Rodriguez on the guitar.

On October 17th the group will have its official album release party at The Freight & Salvage in Berkeley (California) and then the 24th a live performance at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes de Los Angeles in Los Angeles.
