The new British folk music supergroup comprised of vocalist and fiddler Nancy Kerr, guitarist Martin Simpson and accordionist Andy Cutting will be performing this year at Towersey Festival. the festival will take place August 28-31, 2015.
“This is a collaboration in the truest sense,” says Kerr, who won the BBC Folk Awards 2015 for Folk Singer of the Year. Simpson, Cutting & Kerr’s debut album Murmurs is one of the year’s best British folk music releases, a combination of traditional pieces and originals.
“The set is quite different to the album, we play the songs in a different order, the set follows a narrative, as there are a lot of songs about nature – bees, birds – these ideas about new nature writing are a strong thread which live, and we can expand a lot …
“I’m really proud of Murmurs … but live music is where it’s at,” adds Kerr.
