Argentine world music band Churupaca is set to perform on Thursday July 30 at 21:00 at the Konex Cultural Center.
Churupaca was formed in the winter of 2011 in Buenos Aires, when Fefo Selles and Juana Aguirre met and began sharing their songs and musical influences. Today, Churupaca creates a universe of sounds that easily highlight music influences from the Rio de la Plata region, Latin America, flamenco rumba, Balkan music, reggae and klezmer among others.
The first album (self-titled) has 13 original songs, featuring guest appearances by well-known Argentine acts such as Chango Spasiuk, Lola Quince (Perotá Chingó), Tano Diaz Purmara (Lisandro Ariztimuño) and Santiago Castellani (Babel Orques-ta).
In 2015 the band plans to reach every corner of Argentina and tour Chile again.
