The Poozies to Release Into The Well

Pioneering all-female folk band The Poozies has a new album titled Into The Well (Schmooz Records) scheduled for release on May 25, 2015 in the UK. The new line up features four musicians, including founder members Mary Macmaster and Sally Barker together with long-time members Eilidh Shaw and Mairearad Green.

The Poozies have mixed folk with pop, soul, country, Scottish Gaelic and, in their own words, ‘any enticing genre’.

Their style is a vibrant combination of rhythmic, acoustic guitar, electro-harp, and fiddle and accordion, with songs in four-part harmony.

The song selection include Sally’s newly composed song ‘Ghost Girl’; Mairearad’s tune ‘Achiltibuie’; and a cover of Lynn Miles’ ‘Three Chords and the Truth’; all elaborately arranged.
