The Flamenco Viene Del Sur 2015 (Flamenco comes from the south) series will present flamenco guitar maestro Juan Carlos Romero on Tuesday, May 5 at the Teatro Central of Seville at 21: 00h (9:00 pm).
Juan Carlos Romero plans to perform pieces from his new album Paseo de los Cipreses (Cypresses Boulevard), which is a tribute to important people in Romero’s life, such as Niño Miguel, Enrique Morente, Antonio Moreno, Felix Grande, Paco de Lucia and his father. “Still, when I write their names, I’m shocked and in disbelief and I get a knot in my stomach. And that’s how this music took me to walk among the cypresses, to keep company with friends, my father, like a bouquet of fresh flowers I put in their tombstones to evoke and remember them with what I have, with what I know, which is flamenco music”.
Lineup: Juan Carlos Romero (lead guitar), Paco Cruzado (guitar), José Valencia (special guest vocalist), Carmen Molina (vocals), Agustin Diassera (percussion), José Carlos Roca (cello), Los Mellis (vocals and handclapping percussion).
