Spanish vocal sensation Concha Buika and Madrid-based Cuban pianist Iván “Melon” Lewis are set to perform at Kennedy Center on March 8, 2015 at Concert Hall.

Concha Buika is a two-time Latin Grammy–winning singer and prolific recording artist. Her major international career crosses multiple genres such as Afropop, flamenco, jazz, copla, bolero, etc. Joining her in this concert is Cuban-born pianist Iván “Melon” Lewis (left, above) and his Continuum Quartet. Lewis was one of the first artists to push the timba technique right to the heart of his music creating instantly recognizable melodies that Lewis and bassist Alain Pérez have now brought to the summits of sophistication.

Lewis and Buika will present a mix of jazz and “danceable” genres.
