Cold Spell (Compass Records), the latest album by Washington, D.C. area bluegrass band Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Bluegrass Album category.

This is the quartet’s first Grammy nomination. Earlier this year, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen received Instrumental Group of the Year honors at the International Bluegrass Music Association’s annual awards ceremony in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen features Frank Solivan on lead vocals, mandolin, and fiddle; Mike Munford on banjo; Chris Luquette on guitar; and Danny Booth on bass. Cold Spell includes special guest performances from bluegrass legends Sam Bush, John Cowan, and Rob Ickes.
