A panel titled Packaging the Music will take place October 29th at Youngstorget 3 in Oslo (Norway) 10:00-12:00. Admission is free.
The political context of an artist always becomes more relevant to the artistry, when he or she, is from anywhere but Europe, or the US. Is this always at the choice of the artists themselves? We want to look at how political context can both be positive and negative, how it can highlight and sometimes, take away from the music.
Space limited.
Panelists include Monica Ifjejilika – artist (Norway/Nigeria); Khyam Allami – artist (Iraq); Amani Semaam – festival director, Beirut & Beyond International Music Festival (Lebanon); Åse Kleveland – Former Minister of Culture, artist and cultural leader (Norway); Lars Petter Hagen – festival director, Ultima Festival; Moderator: Asta Busingye Lydersen.
