Northumbrian Piper Kathryn Tickell Releases ‘Kathryn Tickell & The Side’

Celebrated Northumbrian piper Kathryn Tickell has a new album titled Kathryn Tickell & The Side. The new band includes Kathryn Tickell on Northumbrian pipes, fiddle and vocals; Louisa Tuck (Royal Northern Sinfonia) on cello; Amy Thatcher on accordion and vocals; and Ruth Wall on various harps (lever, bray, wire-strung) and vocals.

‘Kathryn Tickell & The Side’ features eleven original compositions by Kathryn Tickell, one creation by Amy Thatcher, two classical pieces and two traditional folk tunes. The music is profoundly rooted in the landscape and history of Northumbria.
