The Atlantic Music Expo (AME) held in Cape Verde (Cabo Verde) has announced that it is currently accepting showcase and conference proposals from artists, musicians and music industry professionals that represent both the strong traditions and future direction of music from across the Atlantic and beyond. Next year’s event will take place from Monday, April 6 – Thursday, April 9, 2015. The deadline for all international proposals is Friday, October 31.

The AME Showcase Festival is open to proposals from all artists and from any musical background. The AME stages have been home to numerous styles and genres from folk to popular, traditional to electronic. Alongside a line-up of Cape Verdean artists, the Showcase Festival will feature performances by artists from around the world. Showcase proposals can be made via the online application form: atlanticmusicexpo.com/apply_live.php

The 2015 AME Conference will focus primarily on know-how, good practice and practical case-study presentations. The Conference will include conference sessions, one-to-one meetings and workshops. Proposals from Africa and from around the Atlantic are especially welcome, but are by no means a requirement. Conferences can be proposed using the online application form: atlanticmusicexpo.com/apply_conference.php

The AME’s first two editions each attracted over 500 professionals, local and international, and hosted more than 20 shows per edition alongside the program of conferences and workshops.

AME was initiated by the Ministry of Culture of Cabo Verde under the guidance of the WOMEX 2014 Professional Award Winner Mario Lúcio de Souza, and produced by Harmonia and WOMEX, the world music expo.
