The kings of Serbian brass band music, Boban & Marko Markovic Orkestra are set to perform on Friday September 26, 2014 at the 13th Annual Small World Music Festival.
The award-winning Boban Markovic Orkestra is celebrated worldwide. According to tradition, Boban officially handed over the Orkestra to his son and successor Marko on his 18th birthday in 2006. Marko was given a trumpet as a child and started to receive lessons from Boban’s father when he was 9. At 13 he was in the studio for the first time. At 14 he joined Boban’s Orkestra.
At 16, Marko became lead soloist and started arranging for the band. Now two generations of a legendary Gypsy family join forces to provide a powerhouse of brass virtuosity and infectious energy that has jumped from village celebrations to the dance floors of the trendiest Central European clubs.
