James Duncan Mackenzie Band (Scotland) is set to perform on September 6 at MIMO’s festival in Olinda at SEMINÁRIO DE OLINDA at 19:00 (7:00 pm).
James Duncan is a rising star in the contemporary Scottish folk scene. He is a whistler, violinist and bagpipe player. James Duncan MacKenzie is one of the youngest breakthrough talents at the main European music festivals. Since 2011, when he joined acclaimed Celtic group Breabach, he has toured Canada, Australia, New Zealand and across Europe.
The dazzling Scottish artist and composer will visit Brazilian stages for the first time. Nominated for “Best musician of the year” at Scot Music Trad Awards, he has received public acclaim at recent festivals like Celtic Connection, in Glasgow (Scotland) and Interceltique deLorient Festival, in Brittany (France). His debut album James Duncan Mackenzie received critical acclaim.
MIMO Festival 2014 presents some of the finest acts in jazz, world music and classical. It takes place August 29-31 in Ouro Preto (Minas Gerais); September 4-7 at Olinda (Pernambuco); October 10-12 at Paraty (Rio De Janeiro State); and October 17-19 at Tiradentes (Minas Gerais).
