The Sala Roja of the Teatros del Canal will be the main venue for Suma Flamenca programming this week and will host four shows. The series begins with the Soy flamenco (I’m Flamenco) concert by Tomatito, on Wednesday June 11, at 20:00. The guitarist from Almeria, in full maturity, will perform the most authentic flamenco from his latest album because it is sincere and comes from his heart. He will perform with his son Tomate who appeared during the seventh edition of Suma Flamenca. Both will be accompanied by singing, percussion and dance.
In the same space the Spanish premiere of a concert by the great Carmen Linares along with a jazz group consisting of Carlos Benavent, Jorge Pardo and Tino di Geraldo. The jazz trio will join the heartbreaking songs of Linares. The show called Cu4tro will also feature flamenco guitar, dance, rhythm, vocals and clapping. The big date is Thursday, June 12 at 20:00.
At the same time, on Saturday, June 14th, another first showing in Madrid, an encounter with La Moneta’s purest and most profound dance. En Paso a paso expresses drama and impeccable rhythm. She will be accompanied by the great master Javier Latorre. They will dance “solea apolá ‘farrucas, malagueña and tientos azambrados.
Suma Flamenca is taking place from June 4 to July 3, 2014 at 24 venues in the Madrid region.
