Grupo Niche, Colombia’s favorite salsa orchestra is set to perform tomorrow at Electric Brixton this Friday, May 2. Grupo Niche has conquered the world for more than thirty years with its Cali-style salsa. They recently released the album Tocando el Cielo Con Las Manos, containing numerous new hits and last month won the coveted Congo D’Oro at Barranquilla Carnaval demonstrating that the band is still at the top of its game.

Grupo Niche was formed by Jairo Varela and a group of like-minded, talented musicians and made their debut with the release of Al Pasito in 1980. The band brought their vibrant sound to Europe for the first time in 1989.

To close La LInea 2014 the band will present their new work (including their summer hit “Un día después”) and all the old favorites such as “Cali Pachanguero” from the golden age of Colombian salsa.

Niche will be joined on stage by award-winning Colombian dance duo Cali Swing demonstrating the moves that swung all of Latin America.

Tickets are £26 in advance (+ booking fee where charged) or £30 on the door.

Electric Brixton is located at Town Hall Parade, Brixton, London
