The 2014 edition of the Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival will take place Thursday, February 20th through Sunday, February 23rd in southern Florida.
This year’s event includes over 40 bands from all over the world such as Afro-Colombian group ChocQuib Town, Zimbabwe’s Oliver Mtukudzi, bluegrass legend Del McCoury, Latin Grammy Award-winning Sie7e, Americana music institution and festival founders Donna the Buffalo, reggae band John Brown’s Body, Monsieur Perine from Colombia, French Horn France, and top local acts like Spam All-Stars, Locos Por Juana , DJ Bill Kelly, Suénalo, and Elastic Bond.
Virginia Key Grassroots Festival is held on the unspoiled sands of the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. Camping is available on the main festival grounds, just steps from the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. Virginia Key is a short ride from downtown Miami, but is quiet and secluded.
Ticket prices are just $25-40 per day or $100-120 for all 4 days. Kids 12 & under are free. Tent camping is $25 per night or $50 to stay 4 all nights. Vehicle camping (for any car, truck or van up to 20 feet) comes with a free tent pass and is $50 per night or $100 to stay all 4 nights. RV passes are $150.
