International folk music quartet SANS will be on tour this summer. SANS is the four musicians who played on The Unbroken Surface of Snow. That was an Andrew Cronshaw album, but SANS did some shows together at Kaustinen Festival in July 2011 and all four musicians contribute equally.
The group includes Andrew Cronshaw (UK) on zither, marovantele, fujara, ba-wu and other instruments; Sanna Kurki-Suonio (Finland) on vocals; Tigran Aleksanyan (Armenia) on duduk; and Ian Blake (UK/Australia) on bass clarinet, soprano sax. etc. Confirmed shows for 2012, all of them in rather beautiful places, are:
