GALAXIE Rising Stars Award Goes to Senegalese Musician Elage Diouf

Senegalese musician Elage Diouf won the GALAXIE Rising Stars Award after being selected by a jury composed of Patrick Binette (GALAXIE), Jacob Edgar (PBS’s “Music Voyager”, Cumbancha, & Putumayo World Music) and Kerry Clarke (Calgary Folk Festival).

The objective of the GALAXIE Rising Stars Program is to help provide opportunities for up-and-coming musicians in all genres by providing showcase opportunities, monetary awards and potential airplay on the GALAXIE channels. Since its inception in 2000, over 850 artists have directly benefited from the Program.
