On October 16, Saturday, at 8 PM the legendary Carnegie Hall welcomes the extraordinary trumpeter-composer and passionate advocate for world music – Hugh Masekela.
Over the course of a 40-year career—during which he has collaborated with artists from Paul Simon to The Byrds to Ladysmith Black Mambazo—Hugh Masekela mixed the music of his South African roots with the pop-jazz of the 1960s.
Hugh Masekela recordings available: Live at the Market Theatre, Grazing in the Grass: The Best of Hugh Masekela, Hope, Home Is Where the Music Is, Still Grazing, Phola, The Lasting Impressions Of Ooga Booga, Revival, Grrr, Almost Like Being in Jazz
Tickets start at only $27. Carnegie Hall offers a 10% discount for this concert for a group of 20 or more. Many other bonuses for a group include waived convenience fees ($6 per ticket), 10% discount at the Carnegie Hall shop, etc.
