Gary Nuñez and Plena Libre Return to Perform in North Carolina and Texas

After a great Summer tour Plena Libre is back in the US to perform at Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival and Latinoamericano Fest in North Carolina,. There will also be performances at Houston Festival and Austin, Texas. Then the band returns to Puerto Rico where they have some performances.

This four-time Grammy nominee Afro-Rican fine tuned-12-member band is one of the hottest tropical bands today and has been captivating and moving audiences over the course of a sixteen-year, thirteen-album career.

The Puerto Rico-based ensemble of virtuoso musicians is known for their high-energy show and hard-driven native Puerto Rican folkloric rhythms plena and bomba, which are infused with salsa, jazz, other Afro-Caribbean rhythms. The band’s style is characterized by the hard-driven percussion hand drums, congas, timbales, the blaring sound of the trombones and the call and response of their vocalists.

In December Plena Libre is preparing a unique and special show for the end-of-season at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts Center where Plena Libre will present a”De Parranda”, a Holiday Puerto Rican show.
