Brazilian singer Luísa Maita will tour the United States of America, Canada and Mexico this November. The tour, which starts on November 3rd in New York City, brings the acclaimed singer to major venues across the continent, and marks the first time the São Paulo native has toured outside of Brazil.
Luísa Maita has exploded onto the international music scene since the release of her debut album Lero-Lero, released on Cumbancha Discovery this summer. Within a week of the release, Lero-Lero skyrocketed to #1 on the iTunes Latin chart and #1 on Amazon’s Latin Bestseller chart.
Critics from National Public Radio to Huffington Post and Rolling Stone Brazil and influential tastemaker blogs have welcomed Luísa as a fresh new talent in Brazilian music. Influential radio programs such as KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic and WBEZ’s Radio M have also become enchanted with Luisa’s voice, featuring her music and driving the album up the charts.
Luísa’s November tour brings her quartet to a number of high profile venues including Yoshi’s San Francisco, Logan Square in Chicago, the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, SOBs in New York and the Conga Room in Los Angeles, not to mention appearances in Washington DC, Portland (Maine), Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Burlington, Minneapolis, Santa Cruz and Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Tickets for many venues are already on sale. The full touring schedule is below.
Luísa Maita’s tour will correspond with the release of Maita Remixed, an exclusive EP of remixes by top DJs from Brazil, Europe, the US and beyond. Download “Fulaninha (Maga Bo Remix)” here.
