Presenting one of the largest line-ups, with the most diverse and eclectic range of music from across Canada and around the world in many years, the Mission Folk Music Festival is going all out in 2010, delivering a very special edition of this much-loved festival. The festival will be held July 23, 24, 25 2010 at Fraser River Heritage Park, Mission B.C.

From legendary Canadian singer-songwriters to music from Latin and South America, Africa, Finland and Cuba – the festival also shines a spotlight on Quebec and Acadian music as well as the fiery, rhythmic music of the South Pacific. Add Celtic music, Aboriginal Voices, Folk and Blues and you’ve got a festival with a global roster, offering both the familiar as well as exciting and new music to experience and discover.

Artistic Director Francis Xavier Edward’s 2010 Artist Roster features: Al Andalus (Morocco, US, Palestine, Spain), Batata y Las Alegres Ambulancias (Colombia), Jill Barber (BC), Robert Sarazin Blake w/ Jan Peters (US), Renato Borghetti (Brazil), Wil Campa y su Gran Union (Cuba), Les Charbonniers de L’Enfer (QC), Gerald Charlie & the Black Owl Blues Band (BC), Kelsey Charlie (BC) David Francey (ON), Gadelle (PEI), Galant, tu perds ton temps (QC), Matt Gordon (US), Karoliina Kantelinen (Finland), Kenge Kenge (Kenya), Amanda Martinez (Venezuela, Canada), Murray McLaughlan (ON), Les Mononcles (QC), Findlay Napier & the Bar Room Mountaineers (UK), Art Napoleon (BC), Pacific Curls (New Zealand), The Paperboys (BC), Réveillons (QC), Iskwew (BC), Te Vaka (Polynesia), Ian Tyson (AB), Le Vent du Nord (QC).

Beginning with a Friday evening Main Stage (7pm), the festival runs from 11:30am Saturday and Sunday until Main Stage concerts begin at 6pm each night and end around 11pm or later. Three daytime stages run concurrently, with concerts and workshops featuring festival performers. In addition, the festival offers a diverse range of food, an Art Market area and a licensed, shady tent providing cooling beverages.
