Three days of the finest sax-players in jazz continues with Rudresh Mahanthappa’s Indo-Pak Coaltion, a trio of sax, guitar, and tabla, on Friday, February 12, at 8 pm in Nelson Music Room. We close out the series on Saturday, February 13, at 8 pm in Reynolds Theater with Ravi Coltrane’s Quartet.
Also catch Miguel Zenon and plena singer Hector “Tito” Matos in a pre-performance conversation with ethno-musicologist and author Ned Sublette as they discuss the criss-crossing of cultures in Puerto Rico. The talk — free and open to the public — will be held on Thursday, February 11 at 6 pm in Meeting Room A on the top level of the Bryan Center on Duke’s West Campus.
