The annual globalFEST returns in 2010 with another showcase of top world music talent. The festival coincides with the Arts Presenters’s APAP conference. The festival will take place Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 7 pm at Webster Hall in New York City.
For seven years globalFESThas been the springboard festival for world music artists on the brink of North American national main stage success, performers known in one community but ready to cross into others, and the marquee stars of tomorrow. The 2010 festival includes four U.S. debut performances and another New York City debut.

8:10 – 9:00 Nguyen Le’s Saiyuki, Pan-Asian world jazz (Vietnam/Japan/India/France – US debut ). This will be the debut US performance of Nguyên Lê’s Saiyuki trio. Venue: Marlin Room
8:20 – 9:20 Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole, Grammy-nominated Creole Zydeco heir (Louisiana). Venue: Studio
8:35 – 9:20 Namgar, Siberian shaman rock from the Central Asian steppes (Russia – U.S. debut). Venue: Ballroom
9:20 – 10:10 Frangois Ladrezo & Alka Omeka, Gwo-ka master (Guadeloupe) Venue: Marlin Room
9:40 -10:40 Nightlosers, Transylvanian rockabilly/blues/Gypsy chameleons (Romania) – New York debut. Venue: Studio
9:40 – 10:25 La Excelencia, old-school salsa dura revivalists (NYC). Venue: Ballroom
10:30 – 11:20 Federico Aubele, bolero and cumbia meets electro downtempo (Argentina). Venue: Marlin Room
10:45 – 11:30 La Cumbiamba eNeYé, Colombian roots music party (Colombia/NYC). Venue: Ballroom.
