WOMAD Sicily 2009 will be held 25th-27th September. Sicily is calling WOMAD back for its 12th year. The venue once again is the exquisite Greek Teatro Antico in Taormina, where the mix of the international artists, the beauty of the surroundings, and a dusting of WOMAD magic combine to create an unforgettable experience.
Algerian rai legend Khaled, Malian Oumou Sangaré, Saharawi singer Mariem Hassan, Cuba’s Eliades Ochoa, The Black Swan Effect, Abdullah Chhadeh & Syriana, Ba Cissoko, Stefano Bollani and Vinicio Capossela have all been announced for the Sicilian edition of the festival.
Algerian star Khaled will be presenting his new recording titled Liberté.
