WOMEX 09 announced in three installments the list of world music artists (see list below) selected to showcase in Copenhagen this Fall. The WOMEX 09 night showcases will all take place under one roof at the new Copenhagen Concert Hall run by Danish Broadcasting (DR). It consists of four halls with the main auditorium seating 1,800 people. WOMEX is working in partnership with Roskilde Festival producers to assure the best possible concert conditions for this year’s showcases.
Once again WOMEX used an online tool for the showcase proposal submissions – http://www.sonicbids.com. It gave the WOMEX Jury enough
time to go through all artists’ proposals and draw up a personal list of favorites before the actual jury meeting – which still lasted for three days (and nights).
The Copenhagen Concert Hall is only two metro stations away from WOMEX’s daytime venue Bella Center. The metro will be running throughout the night every 15-20 minutes.
