Rising World Music Act Dengue Fever in New York and New Jersey in January

Increasingly popular Cambodian surf rock band Dengue Fever have a few shows coming this January. Dengue will hit Hoboken for a show at Maxwell’s (1029 Washington Ave.) on Saturday, January 10 at 9:30 pm. This is an all ages show, tickets are $12 adv./$14 at door.

While in the metropolitan area, Dengue Fever will be performing at the Highline Ballroom (431 W. 16th St., NY) on Sunday, January 11 with Alex Cuba, Jim Bianco and Marshall Crenshaw as part of the APAP conference taking place that weekend. Doors are at 6 pm, showtime is 8 pm and tickets are $15 adv./$17 day of show.

2008 has been a whirlwind year for Dengue Fever. After the January release of their third CD Venus on Earth, the band hit the road and just kept touring. They have just returned from a stint in England, Ireland, Scotland and Turkey – and made a huge splash on the British television late night show Later… with Jools Holland. Before the year is out, Dengue Fever will be performing live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles as part of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission’s annual Holiday Celebration which is televised live.
