Cambodian Global Surf Band Dengue Fever Will Make British Television Debut on Later with Jools Holland

Dengue Fever, the Cambodian surf rock and world beat band from Los Angeles who played more than 30 festival and club dates in Europe this Summer have just announced that the band will making their British television debut this November on Later with Jools Holland in support of their latest CD, Venus on Earth.

Surrounding the band’s November appearance on Later…with Jools Holland, Dengue Fever will be setting out on their first proper tour of England as well as one-off dates in Turkey and Ireland. In contrast to performing at massive European festivals including Glastonbury, Roskilde, Hove, Way Out West and the London Weekender this summer, the band will now concentrate on smaller club gigs and arts centers this winter.

Additionally, Dengue Fever, Real World Records and Red Carnation Hotels are offering fans another unique opportunity to see the band – in style. A contest has been set up on the Real World website for a chance to win two complimentary tickets to the band’s I.C.A. show in London on Thursday November 20, a King room (double occupancy) on the night of the performance at the four-star boutique hotel, The Rubens at the Palace along with the opportunity to meet the band backstage. Winners need to be based in London or the surrounding area and must be able to provide transportation to/from the hotel and the venue. Dengue Fever is Cambodian songstress Chhom Nimol, Zac Holtzman (guitar/vocals), Ethan Holtzman (Farfisa), Senon Williams (bass), Paul Smith (drums) and David Ralicke (sax). The band’s music has been featured in a number of film and television shows including City of Ghosts, Must Love Dogs, Broken Flowers and twice on Showtime’s hit series, Weeds. They have released three albums, Dengue Fever, Escape From Dragon House and the recently released Venus On Earth. In March 2009, M80 Music will release a DVD/CD soundtrack to the bands documentary Sleepwalking Through The Mekong.
