Madrid-based Sudanese musician Wafir will be performing in Móstoles (Madrid) at Lake stage at Finca Liana Park on Sunday, August 17th at 21:30h (9:30 pm). Admission is free.
After the success of the Cherno More (Wafir’s Balkan project) on August 3rd, Wafir returns to the same stage, with his own project of Sudanese music called Nilo Azul (Blue Nile), that winks at other musical traditions, such as Castilian and Balkan sounds.
Wafir’s career during his 17 years in Spain has gone through such eclectic experiences such as Early Music with Eduardo Paniagua, Celtic pop with Hevia, Galician folk with Luar Na Lubre, Castilian folk with La Musgaña, Jewish music with Klezmer Sefardí and Radio Tarifa’s rich world fusion. Even the most commercial pop acts, such as Amistades Peligrosas’ have taken advantage of his versatility and know how.
Line-up: Wafir Shaikheldin – ud, percussion, accordion, voice, nay. Salah Sabbagh: darbuka, riq, duf. Pedro Esparza: sax, flutes. José Luis Yagüe: double bass.
