Toronto, Canada – Caribbean band Kassav’ makes its first concert appearance in Toronto on Wednesday August 1, 2007, 8pm at Danforth Music Hall, located at 147 Danforth Avenue at Broadview. Supporting act is Juno Award Winner Lazo and The Radicals. The Kassav’ Toronto concert is part of the group’s European and North American Tour which kicked off in Paris France.
Kassav’ celebrates 28 years in the music business, all these years spent at the forefront of zouk music. This Martinique and Guadeloupe based group is considered one of the masters of zouk. As one of the major zouk events of the summer, this LIP Entertainment event marks the fulfillment of seminal promoter LIP’s (Lance Ingleton Promotions) desire to bring Kassav’ for their first ever Toronto concert.
Kassav, the zouk group par excellence, which invented zouk, has become a living legend. All the Caribbean musical influences intermingle with funk and rock to produce an unusual, rhythmic cocktail.
In 2005 the band released Carnaval Tour.
