New York (NY), USA – The NYC Rockin’ the River Cruises goes into its second week with shows by New Riders of the Purple Sage with special guest vocalist Donna Jean, who sang with the Grateful Dead for many years (Wednesday at 7pm & 9:30pm) followed by zydeco master Buckwheat Zydeco (Thursday at 7pm). After a brief hiatus during the week of the 4th of July, we’re back with the Radiators (nearly sold-out for the 7pm show) on July 12th, African jazz legend Hugh Masekela‘s CD Release Shows on July 13th, and the David Grisman Quintet with its first East Coast performance with its newest member, guitarist Frank Vignola on July 19th.The organizers have teamed up with 90.7FM WFUV radio to give away a trip for two to the Austin City Limits Music Festival September 14-16 in Austin, Texas. The NYC Rockin’ the River Cruises (formerly the NYC Blues Cruise) is a scenic tour and live music event in an intimate and friendly concert setting. Participants listen to their favorite artists while sailing past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Brooklyn Bridge and the world’s greatest NYC skyline. The cruises depart from the Circle Line docks at 42nd Street and the Hudson River, Pier 83 – rain or shine.
