One of the largest Celtic festivals in Europe, Ortigueira Celtic World International Festival 2007, has an annual contest called Proyecto Runas, which is open to new folk bands from the Iberian Peninsula. This year, music fans will be able to listen to the 15 finalists and vote for their favorite band.
Five bands will be chosen and they will get to play in the festival in front of a very large audience. The Iberian finalists for Proyecto Runas’07 come from Spain and Portugal: SeteSaias, Bauma, Neirela, La Conjura, A Compañía do ruido, Ophiusa, A Gramalleira, Crema da gaita, Balakandra, Landú, bOnOvO, La jambre, Boys of the hills, Balbarda and Monte Lunai.

This year the Ortigueira Celtic World Festival will be celebrated earlier than ever, July 5 – 8. The 2007 program is not available yet.
