3) World Music and Education
4) Artist tours and Visa Problems
5) The WOMEX Think Piece
You tell us what you think must be covered. Be visionary, be controversial, be informative – just don’t be boring!
How to Propose: Write about 100 words describing your proposed essay and point of view. Please include writing samples in English (no more than two full articles).
Deadline for proposals: Friday, 1 June 2007
Commissions will be awarded by 8 June, and all essays must be delivered by 29 June 2007.
In the interest of attracting the broadest range of writers from all WOMEX delegate territories, we are happy to help edit articles by those who are not entirely confident in English. What we will need is a clear, cleanly argued essay in an easily readable form
of English (We cannot translate, sorry). It doesn’t have to be perfect by any means. We could then work with you to get in into a form of English that we can jointly approve. What is important is variety and diversity – not 100% fluency in English.
