New York City (NY), USA – On Saturday, January 20th at 8 PM, four world music ambassadors from Denmark’s lively local scene will appear in concert with several esteemed New York players. The Global Village Denmark-NY event was conceived to allow visiting artists to experience New York from within, rather than as mere guests. By working closely with some of New York’s best instrumentalists and music professionals, they will construct an enduring artistic bridge between the two communities. Ideally, this will lead to further and evolving collaborations over the years.
The event will take place at Makor Cultural Center, located at 35 West 67th St. (Between Columbus and Central Park), NYC. 212.601.1000. Admission will be $15 per person. The participants are:
• Balkan-Scandinavian ethno-grit band Afenginn with The Klezmatics’ Frank London
• Serbian Gypsy accordion champion Lelo Nika in Balkan Fusion summit with Helio Alves, Ernesto Simpson and Andreou Panagiotis
