Oakland (California), USA – Latin Jazz timbales virtuoso Pete Escovedo and Juanita Escovedo will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, with a special live concert event featuring Pete Escovedo, Sheila E., Juan and Peter Michael Escovedo, and special surprise guests on November 4th, 2006 at the Gateway in Oakland, California.
After renewing their vows in a private ceremony in the company of their closest friends and family, a unique live performance will follow. This concert by the Escovedo Familia will be open to the public to join this celebration.
Pete and Juanita’s youngest daughter, Zina Escovedo of Escovedo Enterprises, will produce this concert event.
The event will also include dinner, dancing, and the opportunity to view never before seen video footage of concerts, private house parties and family photos. The images will be presented on three video screens.

Part of the proceeds from this event will benefit daughter Sheila E.’s Elevate Hope Foundation. Elevate Hope Foundation is dedicated to provide abused and abandoned children an alternative method of therapy through music and the arts, and funding special services and programs that assist the needs of these children using these fundamental methods.
Native Californian Pete Escovedo discovered and cultivated a love and passion for music, which soon led him to embrace Latin jazz as a timbales virtuoso, and further collaborated with greats such as Mongo Santamaria, Bobby McFerrin, Cal Tjader, Woody Herman, Billy Cobham, Boz Scaggs, Arturo Sandoval, Chick Corea, and the great Carlos Santana to name a few. This Bay Area icon has entertained audiences for decades throughout the world.
