Miami (Florida), USA – The Heineken TransAtlantic Festival will present Lenine with special guest Javier Garcia on Saturday March 18, 7pm, at
North Beach Bandshell. The venue is located at 7275 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.
Brazilian star Lenine is one of the most important new MPB artists today – a singer/songwriter and producer who combines original music with the rhythms of Northeast Brazil. From his home in Recife come maracatu and forro, over a base of rock, pop, jazz and classic Brazilian styles. Lenine was awarded 2 Latin Grammy Awards in 2005: Best Brazilian Song and Best MPB Album. This concert is
part of his US debut tour, which also features a concert at SXSW in Austin Texas.
Javier Garcia is a popular new Latin rock artist whose music explores his Cuban roots mixed with a little bit of everything else. His recent CD, 13, for Universal
Music was produced by Grammy and Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla. Born in Madrid to an Irish mother and a Cuban father, and now based in Miami, he was one of the successes at last fall’s LAMC events in New York City.
The Heineken TransAtlantic Festival is a celebration of music made in the beautiful collision between traditional styles and modern influences – artists from the great cities of the Atlantic rim, making fresh new world music.
