Mariza this Saturday at Live 8, Africa Calling

The Netherlands – Portuguese fado diva Mariza will be performing at Africa Calling. The Eden Project is staging a major Live8 concert in Cornwall (UK) on the 2nd of July under the banner of Africa Calling.

The event will be programmed and hosted in association with WOMAD and its co-founder Peter Gabriel, who has championed World Music for the past 25 years, together with Senegalese superstar Youssou N’Dour. Youssou N’Dour and Peter Gabriel have invited many of their favorite artists to perform at the event.The concert will be held on the stage in the Eden arena with the world’s biggest greenhouses providing a spectacular backdrop in the crater. This outstanding line-up will bring the spectacular Eden site alive with unbeatable African party spirit. Transmissions will be made from the event by the BBC as part of the Live8 celebration.

Mariza performs amongst other artists like: apart from Youssou N’Dour, also Tinariwen, Daara J, Thomas Mapfumo & the Blacks Unlimited, Angelique Kidjo and many more.
