Oslo, Norway – On her new album, Storst av alt (Greatest
of All), Swedish singer Carola performs familiar songs from the major
milestones in life, such as baptism, marriage and funerals. Released on
KKV (FXCD 290), these are songs about belonging,
love and death. Kjetil Bjerkestrand (a major influence on Sova på min arm (Sleep on My Arm)
from 2001) has arranged the music for strings, bass, drums, guitars, organ,
piano and keyboards. Other featured musicians are Knut Reiersrud, Bemt Rune
Stray, Helge Norbakken, Gjermund Silsei and strings from Stavanger
Symfoniorkester, conducted by Sveinung Sand. Marian Lisland has done the choir
arrangements and also sings in the choir with Gabriel Forsman and others. The CD
was recorded in Cape Town, Studio Nordraak, Oslo, St. Johannes Church in
Stavanger, The Hitfactory in Stockholm and Rainbow Studio, Oslo in January,
February and March 2005.
Carola’s previous releases Blott en dag (Day by Day) (1998),
Jul I Bethlehem (Christmas in Bethlehem) (1999) and Sova på min arm (Sleep on My Arm) (2001) were all successful collaborative projects with
KKV.
