Danish-Tanzanian musician Mzungu Kichaa has a new album titled Huyu Nani on Caravan Records.
Huyu Nani means ‘who is that’ and gives the listener a taste of today’s globalized music sounds. Mzungu’s style makes reference to afrobeats, classic Congolese rumba, trap, Latin reggaeton and club music. The album features acclaimed singers from Kenya, Tanzania and Denmark.
Mzungu Kichaa broke through in Africa in 2009 with the album “Tuko Pamoja” and the hit single “Jitolee” featuring Tanzanian stars Professor Jay and Mwasiti.
By 2010, Mzungu Kichaa had become famous in both Kenya and Tanzania and was invited to be a judge in Bongo Star Search, the Tanzanian equivalent to X-Factor (a popular British music competition on TV) and toured Europe for ten consecutive years.
