The 12th Mostra Portuguesa (Portuguese Showcase) will present Carla Pires on Saturday November 15th. Pires is one of the great voices of fado. She will perform at the Filarmónica de Oviedo (Philharmonic Theatre of Oviedo) in Spain, where she will participate in the series “Noches de fados: divas” (Fado Nights: Divas), an annual classic presentation at the Mostra Portuguesa.

Considered one of the new international stars of fado, Carla Pires has performed at the finest theaters in Europe. Accompanied by Sandro Costa on the Portuguese guitar and António Neto guitar on Spanish guitar, Sandra Pires will present pieces from her most recent recordings, Ilha do meu fado and Rota das paixoes, best sellers in her country.
Carla Pires played the role of Amalia Rodrigues, the most mythical Portuguese fado singer, in the musical Amalia. Carla Pires has become an essential voice in new fado.
The Mostra Portuguese XII is organized by the Embassy of Portugal in Spain and Instituto Camões.
