The Awards Ceremony will mark the end of world music expo WOMEX 2014. The three WOMEX Awards will be presented right after the Networking Breakfast on Sunday, October 26.
The three annual awards honor the finest in the world music industry. This year, the Label Award winner is Glitterbeat (Germany), the Professional Excellence Award will be presented to Mário Lúcio Sousa (Cape Verde) and the Artist Award goes to fado star Mariza (Portugal).
These celebrated guests will each be presented with their awards, and the ceremony will end with a showcase from Mariza, performing the fado for which she is so well-known.
